AT-L11A: 4 Hours: Lok Kawi Wildlife Park

Duration: 4 Hours

Lok Kawi Wildlife Park (or Lokkawi Zoo) is located at old Penampang-Papar road, about 15km from Kota Kinabalu city. Visitors can see Borneo and Malaysia wild animals such as orang utan, proboscis monkey, Asian elephant, rhino, hornbill birds, tiger, etc. Visit The Botanical Garden which you can find the orchids and Nephentes.

ITINERARY: (Note: Meals are own arrangement – unless stated)

After breakfast at the hotel, meet at hotel lobby by 0900 and transfer to Lok Kawi Wildlife Park (ETA 0945). Explore the park leisurely. This park has over 100 species of mammals and birds; many are native to the island of Borneo. The Botanical Garden is located at the end of the park; many plants and herbs planted for display. The walking path is mostly tarred, and is relatively flat. Then transfer (ETD 1230) back to your hotel. END OF SERVICE.

AT-L12A: 3 Hours: KK Wetland Centre

Duration: 2 Hours


KK Wetland Centre


Formerly known as KK Bird Sanctuary, it covers 60 acres of mangrove forest and provides an important refuge and feeding ground for many species of resident birds as well as migratory species from Northern Asia. Commonly sighted birds include migratory species like the sandpiper, Greenshank, Redshank, egrets and herons as well as canopy birds such as collared kingfisher and stork-billed kingfisher. To date, almost 80 species of birds have been identified at the sanctuary. 

ITINERARY: (Note: Meals are own arrangement – unless stated)

Meet at the lobby at 0800. It is located only about 15 minutes drive form the city centre. Upon arrival at 0815; register and take a self-guide walk along 1.5km boardwalk that brings you deep into the mangrove forest. 45-60 minutes stroll on the boardwalk is a pleasant experience where you can enjoy fresh air and tranquility, while spotting interesting birds, plants and wildlife. On the way back to the hotel make a short stop at Signal Hill Observation Tower to have a bird’s eye view of the city. END OF SERVICE.

 

AT-L13A: 3 Hours: KK Green Connection

Duration: 3 Hours

KK Green Connection
It is an eco theme park, an aquarium and Borneo discovery centre, featuring over 500 native species from 9 major habitats, providing visitors with the opportunity to journey around the ecosystems of Borneo and explore the vast biodiversity contained within them. Great for Children to discover the eco-treasures of Sabah in a nutshell.

ITINERARY: (Note: Meals are own arrangement – unless stated)

Meet at the lobby at 1000. It is located only about 15 minutes drive form the city centre. Upon arrival at 1015; register and you have 02 hours to take part in various educational activities to learn the best of Borneo Biodiversity and aquatic life. On the way back to the hotel make a short stop at Signal Hill Observation Tower to have a bird’s eye view of the city. END OF SERVICE.

AT-N06A: 6 Hours: Klias River Cruise

Duration: 6 Hours


Klias Wetland


This trip offers a closer encounter with wildlife of the wetland. Apart from seeing monitor lizard and birds, one of the highlights is to witness playful Proboscis monkeys. By early evening, the cruise takes you to see thousands and thousands of flickering fireflies, making some trees looking like Christmas trees.

ITINERARY: (Note: Meals are own arrangement – unless stated)

Meet at hotel lobby by 1400 and make an overland journey for 2½ hours to Klias River, South Western part of Sabah.  Upon arrival, enjoy light refreshment at the jetty and then proceed for a late afternoon river cruise in search for the bizarre odd nose Proboscis Monkey along the river. This stretch of wetland is also home to other wildlife such as Long Tailed Macaques, Silver Langur Monkeys, varieties of endemic and migratory birds, monitor lizards, bats, otters and even crocodiles! Return for dinner at the jetty overlooking the river. When the darkness falls, proceed for a 2nd boat ride to witness the magic of thousands flickering fireflies on trees along the river bank. Then return to the jetty and transfer back to your hotel in Kota Kinabalu. END OF SERVICE.

Monsopiad Cultural Village


This is the only cultural village in Sabah to commemorate the legendary “Head Hunter Warrior” named Monsopiad and also offers an insight of the past pagan era of the Kadazan people.  His ‘trophies’ of 42 skulls have been kept until today in the existing “House of Skulls”.
